LinkedIn is a worldwide professional networking website where million of professionals from around the world hang out, join and network. It is considered as the default social networking way to connect with people in a professional way. It has greater advantageous than lurking at a business cocktail party waiting to be pounced on.


LinkedIn History : Founding to 2020

LinkedIn started out in the living room of co-founder and Venture capitalist Reid Hoffman and the web site officially launched on May 5, 2003.LinkedIn's initial growth was slow at first. In the year 2005 company decided to introduce services that will allow companies to post job listings and search the network for prospective employees. Venture capitalist Reid had experience as a  board member of Google, Ebay and PayPal, so company didn't have any troubles before taking the first round of funding and also during floating on the New York stock exchange

To become a profitable business model apart from providing professional services, LinkedIn permitted companies to promote and advertise their ads on the LinkedIn site. Eventually in 2007 LinkedIn became profitable.

LinkedIn business revenue model is a two-sided stage running on a freemium model, a basic (free) account is for any user  who wants to create and maintain a skilled professional profile online on LinkedIn. Using which you can:  Find and reconnect with colleagues and classmates. You can request and provide recommendations and search for and view profiles of other LinkedIn members. Where as to open boundless inquiry and different highlights, you have to change to a paid subscription.

You can't change the language of your primary profile created on LinkedIn, you can create secondary profile on LinkedIn.The “Featured Skills & Endorsements” section of your LinkedIn profile lets you add  50 skills, so  that you can describe whole set of your capabilities and experience.

LinkedIn suggests that, “If you're a premium member, you have the option to display a gold "In" logo on your profile to indicate your premium status.
